We are currently seeking a SERVERS at TRATTORIA BY ITALIAN KITCHEN in the heart of Burnaby, celebrates la bella vita and a renaissance of a restaurant experience that transports guests to the heart of Italian cuisine, culture and style. Seasonally informed dishes made from scratch are paired with consummate service, an intimate atmosphere and a focused list of wines, cocktails and beer.
A recent floor-to-ceiling renovation imparts a more refined, elegantly appointed and upscale experience reminiscent of the group’s popular Italian Kitchen on Burrard Street in downtown Vancouver. The newly reimagined Trattoria offers an expansive yet cozy layout that features a variety of private and semi-private rooms, an 18-seat pizza bar and a lush, landscaped 65-seat heated patio that allows guests to indulge in al-fresco dining experiences whatever the weather.
The SERVER is responsible for capturing guest menu selections and presenting the food and beverage preferences in an engaging way. The SERVER leads in delightful conversation and creates the restaurant experience by their style and service attributes.
· Knowledge is power; answer questions about food, beverage, wine, and other restaurant functions and services; explain/romance the menu concept and style
· Genuine is the best; a memorable dining experience is always the focus, created by the art of service
· Anticipate guest needs; replenish mise en place, refill glasses, fold napkins, stay on top of table maintenance
· Respect; no request is too difficult; teamwork makes the dreamwork
· Work safely; monitor the cleanliness of your section and ensure all material and areas are safe and free from clutter
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
· 3+ years minimum experience as a server in a fast-paced environment
· Serving it Right certified and understanding of responsible alcohol service
· Certification in liquor, wine (WSET) and food service courses is an asset
· Excellent wine, cocktail and food knowledge
· A positive, energetic outlook and a passion for food and beverage
· A strong sense of urgency to satisfy the needs of others
· Able to stay calm, prioritize and synchronize the sequence of service
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
