Job Description

We are looking for a data domain manager to play a key role in the management and development of corporate data, ensuring that data is well organized, accessible and aligned with strategic objectives. You will work closely with technical teams, business stakeholders, and data architects and engineers to define and implement data management strategies within one or more data domains (products, production, customer, etc.).

This role requires excellent communication skills, in-depth knowledge of the world of data and analytics, strong business acumen and a strategic mindset. The successful candidate will work closely with internal customers, Information Services and Technology (IS&T) teams and other stakeholders in an Agile development methodology.

YOU’LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:

  • Manage and supervise a team of architects, data engineers and product managers.
  • Develop analytical strategies to meet business needs.
  • Collaborate with product managers, the development team and stakeholders to build and monitor the action plan for initiative delivery.
  • Collaborate with other data domains as well as cross-functional integration, data governance and advanced analytics teams.
  • Contribute to the prioritization of initiatives based on their technical, financial and resource management dependencies and constraints.
  • Supervise the entire project lifecycle, from inception to implementation.
  • Oversee and manage the financial aspects of team management and initiatives.

YOU WILL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:

  • A bachelor's degree in business, management, engineering, IT or a related discipline (a master's degree would be an asset).
  • At least 10 years of experience in managing large-scale data migration projects, with knowledge of data architecture concepts.
  • The ability to mobilize teams and maintain positive leadership, even under pressure.
  • Experience with the following data catalogues and platforms (an asset): SAP, Salesforce, Snowflake and Power BI.
  • Implementation and deployment of a company data governance platform.
  • Collaboration with the data foundation domain teams to set up a next-generation cloud data platform.
  • Management of our legacy data platform remediation efforts to support our enterprise resource planning (ERP) changeover programme.
  • Supporting and managing agile transformation of the DNA office.
  • Strong analytical and information processing skills.
  • The ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders outside Quebec or in English on a daily basis.
