Job Description: Barista / Cafe Assist at Langara Fishing Lodge, Haida Gwaii
Location: Haida Gwaii, BCPosition Type: Contract (May - September)
Shift: 10 hour shifts, 6 days a week
Overview: Langara Fishing Lodge, nestled in the breathtaking landscapes of Haida Gwaii, invites dedicated and skilled professionals to join our team as a Barista / Cafe Assist. This unique opportunity allows you to work in a dynamic kitchen environment on a floating barge, where the beauty of nature meets rich cultural heritage.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages, including espresso drinks, drip coffee, and specialty drinks.
Take customer orders and provide recommendations based on their preferences.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cafe area, including the seating area, counter, and equipment.
Assist in the preparation of food items and pastries as needed.
Handle cash register operations, including processing payments and managing cash flow.
Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and report any maintenance needs.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service and a positive customer experience.
Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards.
