Breakfast Chef at Langara Fishing Lodge, Haida Gwaii

Position Type: Contract (May - September)
Shift: Early Morning shifts, 6 days a week, 11 Hour Shifts
Overview:
Langara Fishing Lodge, nestled in the breathtaking landscapes of Haida Gwaii, invites dedicated and skilled culinary professional to join our team as a Breakfast Chef. This unique opportunity allows you to work in a dynamic kitchen environment on a floating barge, where the beauty of nature meets rich cultural heritage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute guest breakfast service, which begins at sunrise and concludes at 11 AM, adjusting to the varying times of sunrise throughout the season.
- Start early shifts to supply buffet breakfast for staff at either 8 AM or 7:30 AM, depending on the day’s schedule.
- Open the kitchen independently, ensuring all necessary preparations are complete before service begins.
- Work independently while managing time efficiently to meet the demands of breakfast service.
- Handle the pressure of simultaneous guest arrivals, ensuring a smooth and efficient breakfast service.
- Manage breakfast preparation for upcoming shifts and for your weekly day off, ensuring a seamless transition between shifts.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills and time management to thrive in a fast-paced and tight-knit kitchen environment.
- Collaborate with the culinary team, being aware of their responsibilities and fostering a supportive work environment.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas.
