Job Description

Position Overview:
We are searching for a friendly and outgoing individual to join our team as a Host or Hostess at Bar Prequel. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming and inviting atmosphere, ensuring an exceptional experience from the moment they arrive. Your warm personality, organizational skills, and ability to manage guest flow will contribute to the success of our cocktail bar.

Responsibilities:

Greet guests as they arrive at the bar, promptly acknowledging their presence with a friendly and welcoming demeanour.
Maintain an organized waitlist and manage reservations to ensure efficient seating arrangements, balancing guest preferences with table availability.
Effectively communicate with guests to provide estimated wait times and keep them informed about the status of their table.
Escort guests to their tables, present menus, and assist with seating arrangements while providing attentive and personalized service.
Collaborate with the bar and waitstaff to ensure a smooth and seamless transition between guests, optimizing table turnover and minimizing wait times.
Answer incoming phone calls and provide accurate information about reservations, bar offerings, and general inquiries.
Assist in coordinating private events, large parties, and special occasions, ensuring that guests' needs are met and expectations are exceeded.
Monitor the bar's cleanliness and ambiance, promptly addressing any areas that require attention to maintain a comfortable and visually appealing environment.
Manage the reservation system, inputting and updating guest information, preferences, and special requests.
Uphold company policies and procedures, including health and safety guidelines, to ensure the well-being of both guests and staff.
Work closely with the management team to enhance guest experiences and address any customer concerns or feedback.

Qualifications:

Previous experience as a host/hostess or in a customer service role is preferred.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage guests in a friendly and professional manner.
Strong organizational abilities to manage guest flow, reservations, and seating arrangements effectively.
A positive attitude and the ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proficiency in using reservation management software or technology is a plus.
Well-groomed appearance and a polished, professional demeanour.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as per the bar's operational schedule.
Must be at least 19 years of age and possess the necessary legal documentation to work in a licensed establishment.
