About The Lunch Lady
The Lunch Lady is a celebrated Vietnamese restaurant bringing the vibrant flavors of Saigon street food to Vancouver. With an ever-growing loyal customer base and dynamic dining experience, we are proud to have earned the Michelin Bib Gourmand recognition for 3 consecutive years. As we expand our reach to Toronto, we are looking for passionate and experienced team members to uphold our high standards of food, service, and guest experience.

Position Overview
We are hiring Hosts(esses) to join our team in Toronto. As a Host(ess), you will be the first point of contact for our guests, responsible for creating a warm and welcoming environment while ensuring a smooth, efficient flow of guests throughout the restaurant. Your role will be key in delivering outstanding guest service, supporting the front-of-house team, and maintaining a high level of professionalism in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.

Responsibilities
• Greet guests warmly and ensure they are seated in a timely and comfortable manner.
• Provide excellent customer service to guests, staff, and the culinary team.
• Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the restaurant's food and beverage offerings.
• Manage guest reservations and waiting lists using OpenTable.
• Coordinate with servers and management to ensure smooth seating flow.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the front-of-house area, including the host station.
• Maintain a positive, friendly, and professional demeanor at all times.
• Assist with special requests and guest inquiries regarding dietary restrictions or preferences.
• Help to create and maintain a welcoming atmosphere for every guest.

Qualifications - To be successful in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:
• Minimum 1 year of previous experience in a hosting or customer service role is required.
• Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and willingness to assist guests and team members.
• Strong guest service skills with the ability to handle high-pressure situations calmly and professionally.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in English is required; bilingual language skills are a plus.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
