Bacaro, a Michelin-recommended Italian restaurant and wine bar inspired by the bacari of Venice is looking for a Server to join the team. Knowledge of Italian cuisine and wine and a passion for hospitality are considered an asset.
Please note, Sunday availability is required.
You have:
- 1+ year experience with service in a fast-paced, casual fine-dining environment
- Experience with Italian cuisine is an asset
- Developing wine knowledge (WSET training considered an asset)
- A team-oriented outlook
- A desire to learn and to lead by example
- Serving it Right Certification
- A passion for food and service and a positive attitude to bring to our close-knit team

Inspired by the bacari of Venice situated far from the crowds tucked away on side streets and alongside canals, giovane bacaro is a modern Italian restaurant that takes influence from the traditional Venetian bacaro.
A bacaro’s warm ambience and charm can’t help but invite guests in. Our fondest memories of frequenting these hidden gems are the inspiration behind giovane bacaro and we hope to emulate the same experience for you in our own city.
Just how Italians don’t stray far from what’s local and in season, our menu is designed with this same concept, featuring a collection of cicchetti, share plates, fresh pastas and decadent dolci. Our chefs maintain strong relationships with the local farms and growers, highlighting a rotating menu with a focus on seasonal ingredients grown locally in British Columbia and prepared with Italian sensibilities.
Italians have long celebrated the tradition of enjoying an aperitivo or glass of wine. At Bacaro, our beverage program features cocktails, spritzes and spirits along with an approachable yet thoughtfully curated wine list that showcases varietals from small, family run wineries of Northern Italy as well as special, standout gems from BC’s own backyard.
Open from lunch to late, join us for a quick spritz and snack, a few drinks with friends, or stay awhile – there are no rules, and that’s the beauty of it.
Giovane Caffe, within the same space of Bacaro, is an all day affair, open for a classic Italian cappuccino in the morning, a midday panini, or an evening treat. There is a sidewalk patio and seats inside.
