Role Summary
We are seeking a passionate and driven Sommelier to join our fine dining team. In this role, you will work directly with our Wine Director to maintain our world-class wine program and deliver flawless beverage service. Key Responsibilities
Wine Service Support: Assist the team in delivering exceptional, precise wine and beverage service to guests during high-volume dinner shifts.
Guest Interaction: Recommend tailored wine pairings to guests based on their taste preferences, budget, and menu selections under the supervision of the lead team.
Cellar Management: Help manage the extensive wine cellar, including organizing stock, rotating and managing inventory, and receiving deliveries.
Quality Control: Ensure all wines are stored at the correct temperatures and served in the appropriate, pristine glassware.
Team Education: Assist in preparing materials for staff training to elevate the wine knowledge of the front-of-house team.
Administrative: Prepare the floor for service by polishing decanters, restocking active wine fridges, and updating physical wine lists.
Requirements & Qualifications Certification:
Certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers or a Level 2/3 award from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) is highly preferred.
Experience: 2 years of experience in an upscale or fine dining environment (either as a server, bartender, or cellar assistant).
Knowledge: Strong foundational knowledge of major global wine regions, grape varietals, and classic food-and-wine pairing principles.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication, a polished presentation, and the ability to handle high-stress environments with grace. The ability to assist the FOH team throughout service.
Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long shifts, and lift cases of wine.
