Job Description

Published on Main is currently seeking to find a passionate and driven individual to lead our bar team.

We are open to an immediate start date, however, are willing to hold out for the right person!

POSITION OVERVIEW

As the Bar Manager you are the driving force behind the bar program ethos, operations, and team performance. You will work closely with the Bar Director to ensure the offerings are in keeping with the identity and ethos of the restaurant, support the team by being an educational resource and team member able to convey information and program intent to our dear guests.

RESPONSIBILITIES

BAR PROGRAM
- Maintain the bar program by being responsible for ordering and inventory management, organizing preparation recipes and ensuring the team are able to carry out their duties.
- Innovate and manage the cocktail and beverage offerings, continuously revitalizing the list, ensuring they resonate with our ethos and standards.

OPERATIONS
- Steer the day-to-day bar operations with precision, overseeing all aspects including, inventory, equipment, cleanliness, safety and staff coordination.

TEAM MANAGEMENT
- Lead, train & support the team of bartenders, ensuring effective role execution.
- Assist in screening applications, interviewing, scheduling trial shifts, and evaluating candidates for bar positions.
- Facilitate the successful integration and productivity of new team members.
- Drive the development and performance management of bartenders.
- Actively coach the bar team on preparation techniques, the nuances of presentation and responsible service.
- Collaborate with the department leads and directors to facilitate regular staff training, workshops, or field trips for all FOH staff, to promote a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Promote a positive, inclusive work environment, recognizing and rewarding outstanding performance, and encouraging open communication and feedback.

GUEST EXPERIENCE AND ENGAGEMENT
- Cultivate a bar atmosphere where exceptional service is the standard, and every beverage served is part of a memorable experience.
- Inspire staff to engage with guests, sharing insights, telling the stories of each cocktail, and crafting personalized service.

FINANCIAL OVERSIGHT
- Direct the bar's financial health, managing budgets, controlling costs, and devising revenue-boosting strategies.
- Analyze sales data to inform pricing strategies and conceptualize promotions to increase patronage.

COMPLIANCE & SAFETY
- Ensure that all bar operations conform to legal standards regarding alcohol service and safety.

MARKETING & PROMOTION
- Partner with marketing to elevate the bar's profile through strategic promotions and social media engagement.
- Utilize digital platforms to highlight our unique offerings and signature events, drawing both new and loyal guests.

REQUIREMENTS

- Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience and a desire to continue to grow and learn in an ever changing environment.
- Serving it Right Certification.
- Must be available weekends and evenings.
