Role Overview:
As Head Sous Chef, you will work directly under the Executive Chef to oversee kitchen operations, manage a talented team, and establish a strong culinary presence. We are looking for someone with exceptional leadership and teamwork mentality, a passion for creativity, and a focus on maintaining operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
• Assist the owner in all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu development and food preparation.
• Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff to maintain consistency, teamwork, and quality.
• Help establish a strong kitchen culture centered on leadership and collaboration.
• Ensure kitchen efficiency and cleanliness in compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
• Monitor inventory, order supplies, and maintain a strong focus on food cost control without compromising quality.
• Collaborate with the owner to create innovative dishes that reflect Riviera Cafe & Restaurant’s vision.
• Manage kitchen shifts to ensure smooth service from Monday to Sunday.
• Uphold a positive and professional kitchen environment.
Qualifications:
• Experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar leadership role is an asset.
• Proven experience in training kitchen staff and implementing teamwork-focused environments.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• A passion for culinary creativity and innovation.
• In-depth knowledge of food cost management, food safety regulations, and kitchen operations.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Food Safe certified.
