The iconic Teahouse in Stanley Park is seeking an experienced pastry cook candidate with 1 year minimum of kitchen/baking experience to join our dynamic team. The right candidate must be well organized, efficient and self-disciplined. tips average an additional $4 per hour.
As the Pastry Cook you:
· Ensure products are made consistently and to standard
· Have a knowledge of basic pastry preparations such as sponges, creams, mousses, cookies, cakes, and doughs
· Are able to maintain a clean, organized and safe workspace
· Enjoy a fast-paced environment
· Will ensure all food preparation and storage procedures are followed as outlined by Vancouver Coastal Health, to include FIFO and appropriate labeling
· Can lift 25lbs
· Are able to work on your feet for an extended period of time
· Ensure a safe, respectful work environment in the kitchen at all times
· Have a flexible schedule and are available in the morning and on weekends
Qualifications:
· 1+ years of experience in the kitchen and with baking/pastries
· Assist with regular inventory counts and the maintenance of inventory and production management system
· Have excellent communication and organizational skills
· Have knowledge of food safety practices (a valid food safe certificate is required)
· Have passion for innovation and highly adaptable to change
· Are self-directive and are comfortable working independently
