Job Overview
We are looking for an exceptional customer service professional and self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision. You will be responsible for beverage and snack service, BC Lotto sales, and maintaining a warm, engaging environment for our members and guests.
Key Responsibilities
Member & Guest Service: Provide high-quality service, ensuring all customers feel welcome and valued.
Independent Operations: Act as a proactive self-starter, managing the bar flow and handling opening/closing duties reliably on your own.
Tech Management: Comfortable managing the technology for the lounge, including operating the audio system and adjusting the TVs for sporting events or entertainment.
Service & Facility Access: Prepare and serve beer, wine, spirits, and simple cocktails, along with light snacks.
Lottery Operations: Responsible for validating and selling BC Lotto tickets in compliance with BCLC regulations. Training will be provided.
Daily Management: Manage the POS system, handle cash accurately, counting and reconciling the cash drawer at the end of your shift, and restock the bar and coolers as needed.
Security & Safety: Setting and disarming building alarms and performing building checks to ensure all exits are clear and secure.
Venue Set-up: Preparing the lounge environment by adjusting thermostats, lighting, and signage for customer comfort.
Cleaning & Maintenance: Perform regular equipment maintenance, i.e. glasswasher, and maintain bathrooms as needed.
Incident Logging: Maintaining an "Incident Report Book" to document any issues with intoxicated patrons or facility concerns, as required by liquor laws.
Event Prep: Helping set up tables and chairs, providing customer service for special Legion events or hall rentals.
Physical Requirements
Stamina: Must have the physical stamina to stand for the duration of your shift.
Mobility: Regularly perform physically demanding tasks, including bending, reaching, lifting, and moving heavy kegs (approx. 50–160 lbs) and cases of product.
Facility Access: Ability to navigate stairs frequently throughout the shift.
Qualifications & Availability
Experience: Previous bartending experience is required.
Certification:
Valid Serving It Right (SIR)
Food Safe Level 1 certificate will be required after hiring
Availability: Must be available for evenings and weekends.
Attributes: Outgoing personality, positive attitude, and strong work ethic.
Age: Must be 19+.
