I was a lounge server at Hawksworth. It was fast pace but attention to detail was very important. The product knowledge from the bar and wine staff was amazing. The couple times I went outside of work, I was treated like family. I would have stayed on but I had a child. I’d love to work there again.

Management is hands down the best of any restaurant I've ever worked in. Decision making is done by intelligent/reasonable people who explain themselves and are willing to listen to suggestions from employees from any position/level of seniority. You need a minimum level of industry experience and professionalism or else you'll drown here but if you do have what is required you are treated as an adult. Management does not constantly leer over you and over-analyze what you are doing. You are given a lot of leeway to do what you think is needed to maximize the guest experience, but you do not have to accept bad treatment from guests, they are not "always right".

Flexibility is highly appreciated but at the end of the day your availability as long as you were honest about it when you applied is respected. Time off is granted whenever coverage is possible, with no arbitrary rules around it.

This isn't the most lucrative job in the world but it is very, very consistent. FOH tips are decent for the industry standard and the pool evens everything out so there is much less fluctuation (good or bad) on a nightly basis. Decent benefits for fulltime employees, very strong staff discount that works at both Hawksworth and Nightingale.

I feel lucky to have worked at Hawksworth, the best highend restaurant in the city IMO. You're required to be on your A game but if you put in the work there's no better place to learn high end cuisine and Chef's name will open doors for you in the industry as it did for me. Hawksworth treats their staff right. Get that resume in.
