Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as a Barback at Bar Prequel. As a Barback, you will play a crucial role in supporting our bartenders and ensuring the smooth operation of the bar. Your attention to detail, efficiency, and teamwork will contribute to creating an exceptional guest experience and maintaining the high standards of our cocktail bar.
Responsibilities:
Assist bartenders in preparing and crafting cocktails by fetching and restocking necessary ingredients, glassware, and garnishes.
Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including wiping down surfaces, cleaning glassware, and disposing of waste appropriately.
Monitor and replenish supplies during service to ensure uninterrupted bar operations.
Set up and break down the bar before and after shifts, ensuring all necessary tools and equipment are ready for service.
Collect empty glasses and dishes from guests' tables, providing prompt and attentive service to ensure a pleasant atmosphere.
Assist with restocking beer, and maintaining proper storage and rotation of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
Ensure the bar area and all equipment meet hygiene and safety standards, following sanitation protocols and guidelines.
Collaborate with bartenders and other staff members to deliver exceptional guest service, responding to requests and inquiries with a positive attitude.
Support bartenders during high-volume periods by helping with tasks such as prepping ingredients, pouring non-complex drinks, and delivering orders to guests.
Participate in regular training sessions to enhance your product knowledge, mixology skills, and customer service techniques.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a barback or similar role is a plus, but not required; training will be provided.
Strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative to assist the bar team as needed.
Ability to work efficiently and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour when interacting with guests and coworkers.
Attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness, organization, and proper storage of bar equipment and supplies.
Physical stamina and the ability to lift and carry heavy items, including kegs and cases of beverages.
Familiarity with basic beverage and cocktail terminology is advantageous.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as per the bar's operational schedule.
