OPPORTUNITY OVERVIEW
We are looking for a Bar Manager, dedicated to exceeding expectations of both our members and guests to ensure the highest level of service is consistently provided.
The Bar Manager is primarily responsible for training beverage service staff, providing leadership to support their growth, building content for beverage focused events and meeting sales targets and budgets.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for training and developing all beverage service staff, including developing a training program for the beverage team.
- Sets goals and delegates tasks to improve departmental performance.
- Performs skills/knowledge assessments with staff to identify areas where training is necessary.
- Participates in the development and implementation of corrective action to address service challenges; focuses on continuous improvement of guest satisfaction.
- Assists with service in the Grill, Lounge, and Rooftop during peak periods to take advantage of opportunities to create sales of wines and spirits.
- Responds to and handles guest problems and complaints.
- Sources all alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Participates in monthly inventory counts of all wine, spirits and other beverages.
- Ensures that stock and par levels are kept at all times for all alcohol and non-alcohol products.
- Participates in the development and execution of the VC Cocktail program and all Club events that require beverage requirements.
- Participates in the costing and list prices for the cocktail program.
- Develops and maintains a cocktail recipe book.
- Other duties may be assigned as required.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 3 years of management experience.
- Leadership skills to motivate and develop a team.
- Extensive experience in Food and Beverage Service
- Experience at a private club is a bonus.
- WSET Level 2 or ISG Diploma.
- Must have Serving It Right certification.
- Ability to lift/carry 25 kg.
- Ability to stay on feet for long periods of time.
- Computer Knowledge (MS Excel, MS Word).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrate superior customer service philosophy
- Must have a professional appearance and manner, a gracious attitude and the ability to interact with diverse groups, as well as the ability to build strong relationships within the Club and Community.
- Will be required to maintain a flexible work schedule.
