Position: Director of Operations

Vintage Group Inc. is hiring a Director of Operations to join our team in Calgary, Alberta. With new high end restaurant concepts on the horizon, this is a unique opportunity to help lead an innovative company dedicated to creating memorable dining experiences.
Responsibilities will include:
1. Operational Oversight
- Monitor daily operations: Oversee front-of-house and back-of-house functions,
ensuring everything runs smoothly, from service to kitchen production.
- Staff management: Supervise managers and staff, ensuring proper staffing
levels and efficient work.
- Implement company policies: Ensure compliance with health regulations,
safety protocols, and company policies.
2. Financial Management
- Budgeting and cost control: Develop and manage budgets, controlling
operational costs such as labor, inventory, and food costs.
- Profitability analysis: Track and analyze financial performance, identifying
areas for improvement and cost reduction.
- Forecasting and reporting: Prepare financial reports, forecasting trends, and
adjusting strategies as needed.
3. Customer Experience
- Enhance service standards: Ensure customers receive a consistent, high-
quality dining experience.
- Address customer concerns: Handle any escalated customer complaints or
issues, ensuring satisfaction.
4. Staff Training and Development
- Hiring and onboarding: Oversee the hiring process and ensure proper training
for new staff.
- Employee development: Offer opportunities for staff development, ensuring that
team members are continuously improving.
- Maintain high morale: Foster a positive, motivating work environment.
5. Menu Development and Inventory Management
- Menu planning and pricing: Work with chefs and culinary teams on menu
updates, pricing strategies, and promotions.
- Inventory management: Oversee inventory levels and manage relationships
with suppliers to ensure the timely procurement of quality ingredients.
6. Strategic Planning and Growth
- Set operational goals: Establish short- and long-term goals for improving
efficiency, customer service, and profitability.
- Business growth: Collaborate with owners or executives on strategies for
expanding or improving the restaurant’s footprint, whether through new locations,
marketing efforts, or new offerings.
7. Compliance and Legal Oversight
- Ensure legal compliance: Ensure the restaurant meets all relevant health,
safety, and labor laws.
- Risk management: Develop strategies to minimize risks, such as insurance or
safety training for staff.
Skills Required:
- Leadership: Strong ability to lead a diverse team, motivating and managing staff
effectively.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for
interacting with staff, customers, and stakeholders.
- Financial acumen: Ability to read and analyze financial reports, manage
budgets, and optimize costs.
- Problem-solving: Quick and efficient in identifying issues and finding solutions.
- Time management: The ability to multitask and manage time effectively,
prioritizing daily responsibilities.
This role requires a combination of operational expertise, strategic thinking, and strong
leadership abilities to ensure the success and smooth functioning of our restaurants.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a leadership role within the restaurant industry
- Strong understanding of restaurant operations, financial management, and customer service
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills- Ability to manage multiple venues and diverse teams effectively. - Ability to adapt to evolving business needs and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Passionate about hospitality and committed to delivering excellence- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Degree in Hospitality Management or a related field is preferred.
