We’re looking for a passionate and experienced General Manager to lead our dual-concept location on Commercial Drive — home to La Tana and Pepino’s Spaghetti House. This is a rare opportunity to take the reins of two beloved neighbourhood spots. It’s a dynamic role for a hospitality leader who thrives in fast-paced service, is passionate about Italian food and wine, and takes pride in developing strong, culture-driven teams. You’ll oversee daily operations across both venues, deliver exceptional guest experiences, and collaborate closely with the Banda Volpi executive team to continue driving success.

Located in the heart of Vancouver’s Little Italy, Pepino’s Spaghetti House — affectionately known as "The House that Spaghetti Built” — is a nostalgic, high-energy spot serving up Italian-American classics with character and charm. Housed in the former Nick’s Spaghetti House, a Commercial Drive institution for over 60 years, Pepino’s proudly carries on the legacy with its iconic wood-paneled walls, warm and welcoming booths, a vintage thatched-roof bar, and photographs lining the walls offering a snapshot into the past.

We serve up red sauce favourites like spaghetti and meatballs, deep dish pizzas, mozzarella sticks, and legendary tiramisu — all made with high-quality, thoughtfully-sourced ingredients. La Tana is a cozy, all-day Italian alimentari where handmade pasta, seasonal dishes, and carefully sourced wines take centre stage. From espresso and fresh bomboloni in the morning to elegant, soulful dinners in the evening, we celebrate the depth and joy of Italian culinary tradition — always with a West Coast sensibility.

As a member of Banda Volpi — the acclaimed restaurant group behind Savio Volpe, Elio Volpe, and La Tana — Pepino’s is part of a team recognized for creating some of Canada’s most well-regarded dining experiences. WHAT YOU’LL DO:
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring smooth and efficient service
  • Manage, train, and develop front-of-house teams, providing ongoing support and feedback
  • Monitor inventory levels and place orders in coordination with the culinary team
  • Handle financial reporting, including cost control, labor management, and budget tracking
  • Foster a positive and professional work environment, promoting teamwork and clear communication across all departments
  • Provide exceptional customer service and ensure high-quality guest experiences
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment
  • Ensure that Banda culture of fun, warmth, and authenticity is consistently upheld

QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Minimum 5 years in restaurant management, with experience in high-volume settings
  • Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house processes, inventory management, and financial reporting
  • Proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service and managing a successful team
  • WSET II or equivalent wine knowledge is an asset
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
  • A passion for Italian food and hospitality – you love the industry and are excited to share that passion with guests and the team
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team with positivity and efficiency
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • A hands-on, problem-solving mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
  • $70,000 - $80,000 per year, based on experience + gratuities

AVAILABILITY: 
  • Five shifts per week

Pepino’s Spaghetti House is an iconic Italian-American restaurant rooted in tradition and unapologetically full of character. Known for hearty red sauce classics, legendary deep-dish pizza, and legendary tiramisu served with charm, Pepino’s is a fast-paced, high-volume spot where hospitality and personality go hand in hand.

La Tana Caffè e Alimentari, our sister space next door, is a cozy, all-day Italian alimentari. Focused on house-made pasta, thoughtful small plates, and an all-Italian wine and amaro list, La Tana offers a more intimate, seasonal approach to Italian dining.

Though distinct in concept, the two restaurants are deeply connected — sharing a kitchen, a team, and a spirit. Guests at La Tana can order from Pepino’s menu, and many of our staff work across both rooms, gaining exposure to two unique service styles, menus, and guest experiences under one roof.
