Job Description

Cafe, Restaurant, Bar, Re-imagined. Artigiano is excited to continue to evolve and grow in our communities. Park Royal South is our newest addition: Artigiano Grand Cafe - savour, indulge, and elevate every moment around the table. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As the second in command in the kitchen, you will work closely with the Executive Chef to ensure the smooth operation of our kitchen, maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

- Supervise and manage the kitchen team, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluation of staff members.

- Prepare high-quality dishes using various cooking methods and assist in the presentation of plates.

- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory lists, order supplies as needed, and ensure all necessary ingredients and equipment are available.

- Enforce strict safety and sanitation standards, ensuring compliance with health department regulations.

- Fill in for the Executive Chef when necessary, providing leadership and direction to the kitchen team.

- Resourcefully resolve any issues that arise during service, maintaining a calm and professional demeanour under pressure.

- Respond to customer concerns and feedback, ensuring a positive dining experience. Requirements

- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.

- Strong leadership and communication skills. 

- Excellent knowledge of cooking methods, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.

- Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

- Familiarity with restaurant management software and GSuite.

- Food Safe Certification

- A degree in Culinary or a related field is preferred.

- Weekend and nightshift availability
