Bel Café is growing, and we are looking to add a Sous Chef to our diverse BOH team.

Our culinary leaders showcase ingredients grown and sourced by local purveyors on menus that rotate seasonally. The person for this role is a champion of communication. They are humble and excited to learn and develop leadership skills; they bring creative ideas to menu development, and they are solutions-orientated when faced with challenges or setbacks.
Core Responsibilities
- Ordering
- Active in prep
- Menu testing and development
- Directing work for a small team
Job Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of Restaurant or Catering experience
- Minimum 2 years of Kitchen management in a comparable role (culinary school not required but considered
an asset).
- Open Availability (early mornings, weekends, and some evenings)
- Experience with ordering/inventory management (Optimum Control or equivalent)
- Experience leading and directing a team.
- Experience in menu development
- General computer skills
- Proficient in MS Word and Excel (an Asset)
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary is determined by relevant experience and ability
- This role earns tips from the operations of our two cafes and catering company
